The Autism Society of America and Goodnites® Strengthen Partnership in 2026 to Support Families with Practical Communication Tools

May 12, 2026 – The Autism Society of America and Goodnites® nighttime underwear are proud to announce a continued partnership in 2026, including the release of a new resourceThe Language of Bedwetting.

Bedwetting is common, affecting 1 in 6 children. Research published in the Journal of Pediatric Urology indicates that Autistic children are more likely to experience bedwetting than their peers. While many Autistic children use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) apps to express their needs, behaviors, and feelings, there has not been a dedicated way to communicate about this very common experience, until now.

The Language of Bedwetting is the first comprehensive AAC resource specifically designed to help non-speaking and Autistic children express their needs, wants, and feelings related to bedwetting. The Autism Society of America contributed to the development of this tool and is grateful to its Panel of Professional Advisors, as well as Autism advocates, parents, and communication experts, for their collaboration in creating this resource.

“This expanded vocabulary helps turn what can be an isolating experience into one that children can communicate about more easily,” said Joseph Joyce, President and CEO of the Autism Society of America. “It empowers them to share what happened, how they feel, and what they need in their own way. We thank Goodnites for their continued partnership and for developing this important resource.”

“Goodnites is the leading nighttime underwear brand for children, and for many Autistic children, that need often lasts longer,” said Dan Jackson, Vice President & General Manager at Kimberly-Clark, Child Care. “We know confidence at night goes beyond staying dry — it’s also about being understood. The Language of Bedwetting helps give Autistic children the words they’ve never had, while giving families and caregivers the tools to support them.”

Designed for families and caregivers, the tool is simple, intuitive, and ready to use anywhere at any time. Users can download a printable AAC board or upload the symbol set directly into their preferred AAC app.

The resource is available for free at Goodnites.com/LanguageOfBedwetting. Families can download a printable AAC board to display in their child’s bedroom or bathroom, or upload the symbol set directly to their preferred AAC app. The new language is designed to work seamlessly with all AAC apps.
