Barbara Becker Cottrill, Ed.D.
Barbara Becker Cottrill earned an M.A. in music therapy and an Ed.D. in education and behavior analysis from Teachers College, Columbia University. She was a music therapist at the Long Island Developmental Center and a director of school programs at the Margaret Chapman School in Hawthorn, NY in the 1980s. She held the position of Executive Director of the West Virginia Autism Training Center at Marshall University from 1990 until 2013. Barbara is co-founder of the College Program for students with autism spectrum disorder at Marshall University and co-author of the book, Autism: A Primer for Educators. She has served on the Board of the Autism Society of America and served 2 terms as the chair of their panel of professional advisors. She currently is serving on several autism-related committees in West Virginia.
