On August 21st, Europa Village Wineries and Resort hosted Pathway to Possibilities, an extraordinary gala benefiting the Autism Society of America. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Temecula winery, the evening brought together generous sponsors and local supporters, California affiliate leaders, members of our Board of Directors, and the national team for a night centered on community and impact.

A Promise Kept: Chef Hany Ali’s Vision

The heart of the event belongs to Executive Chef Hany Ali. Growing up, Chef Hany’s best friend was Autistic. The two shared a deep bond, leading Chef Hany to vow early in his career that if he achieved success in the culinary world, he would use his platform to give back to the Autism community.

Though his friend tragically passed away from leukemia, Chef Hany carried that promise forward into this special night. In recognition of his leadership, dedication, and lasting commitment to creating opportunities for others, the Autism Society of America was honored to present Chef Hany with the Ignite Award. This special Award celebrates those whose efforts “spark” tangible improvements in accessibility, inclusion, policy, and community support.

Inclusion in Action: Chaparral High School WorkAbility Students

The highlight of the evening was the active participation of local culinary students from Chaparral High School’s WorkAbility program. WorkAbility provides pre-employment skills training and hands-on vocational support to help students build confidence and job skills as they transition into the workforce.

The students were an integral part of the evening, working side by side with the Europa Village culinary team to prepare and serve a four-course dinner paired with wine.

Throughout the night, a live video feed from the kitchen streamed into the ballroom, giving guests a firsthand look at the team in action. Watching the students work with focus, skill, and immense pride deeply moved everyone in attendance. Their presence was a powerful, real-time reflection of what meaningful vocational inclusion looks like.

A $25,000 Investment in the Autism Community

The spirit of generosity culminated when Europa Village presented the Autism Society of America with a donation of $25,000. These funds will directly support national and local efforts to connect individuals with Autism and their families to essential resources, advocacy, and community support.
