Module 4

Meetings, Feedback, and Repair

Meetings and feedback are structural experiences. Inclusive design makes participation clearer, reduces friction, and normalizes repair after miscommunication.

Design these moments on purpose

Meetings often move quickly and rely on real-time verbal participation. Feedback is sometimes delivered indirectly or without clear next steps.
When miscommunication occurs, it can be treated as a personal failure rather than a normal part of collaboration. Autism-informed organizations design these moments
intentionally—with clarity, multiple participation pathways, and documentation that reduces guesswork.

Inclusive meetings

  • Agenda in advance
  • Clear purpose and decisions needed
  • Multiple participation modes
  • Written recap of decisions + owners

Clear feedback

  • Specific behavior + impact
  • Clear expectation and next step
  • Examples of success
  • Time to process and respond

Repair

  • Clarify intent without blame
  • Restate expectations explicitly
  • Confirm shared understanding
  • Document the plan forward
