Our Team

Kirsten Cooper

Director of Education and Training.

Kirsten Cooper, MSW has worked with Autistic individuals and their families through direct services and systems change work for more than 20 years. For the past 12 years, she led the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin as Executive Director. Prior to her position at the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin, she worked for the Regional Centers for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs in Wisconsin on a statewide grant designed to strengthen the state’s infrastructure to improve services for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Kirsten is passionate about creating community connections to education and resources so that Autistic people live fully through a foundation of acceptance, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.

It has been an honor to serve the Autism community as an affiliate leader alongside so many other incredible Autism Society affiliates. With over a decade of experience leading the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin affiliate, I look forward to bringing the affiliate experience and perspective to the national team. I’ve seen the impact we can have when we all work together and I am excited to contribute to strengthening our network through the collaborative development of education and training programs for the Autism Society, our affiliate network, and community partners.
