Darrius Frazier

Darrius Frazier, the quintessential autism pioneer, recognized community leader, and the spiritual descendant of a prodigious historical lineage. This gentleman regularly transmits an impressive “can do” attitude towards life and helps extol the virtues of the “Autism Society” organization throughout his daily social interactions. At the age of two, Darrius was clinically diagnosed with classical autism and many medical professions told his parents that “formal education” was not a viable option for him. Needless to say, his parents did not abdicate their heavenly familial responsibilities and succumbed to the wishes of a few uninitiated within the helping professions.

Through hard work, prayer, and diligence, Mr. Frazier matriculated from Eastern Illinois University (EIU), Charleston, Illinois, earning three Baccalaureate degrees. Recently, he accomplished an Associate of Applied Science (AS) Degree and previously earned threeCertificates of Completion from Lake Land College, Mattoon, Illinois. Significantly, Darrius is a member of two National Honor Societies: Sigma Alpha Pi, and Phi Theta Kappa; and, serves as an on–air personality and sportscaster with WLKL Radio–89.9.

When Darrius is not working on numerous civic and humanitarian volunteer community projects, mentoring activities, and/or speaking engagements, he enjoys watching athletic events. He regularly attends faith–based services, and during his leisure time, he participates in various team sports, weight–lifting, and enjoys the culinary arts. Darrius proudly identifies as being an African–American, historian, sports statistician, and a pivotal trailblazer in the autism community. Importantly, Mr. Frazier is honored to be a coveted member of the Autism Society of America’s Council of Autistic Advisors.
