Anita Lesko

Anita discovered she’s on the autism spectrum at age 50, then became a nationally recognized autism activist.  After earning her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Columbia University in 1988, she embarked on a 32-year career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, providing anesthesia on over 77,000 cases.  Her specialties include trauma/burns, transplants, neuroanesthesia, and orthopedic total joint replacement surgery.  She is the author of five books, including The Complete Guide to Autism & Healthcare which was the recipient of the Autism Society of America’s Annual Temple Grandin Literary Award in 2018.  In addition to speaking across the nation, Anita was a guest speaker at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City for World Autism Awareness Day 2017.
