For many people, navigating Autism for the first time can be confusing and overwhelming. At the Autism Society of America, our mission is to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully.
Our National Helpline
One of the most important ways we bring that mission to life is through the National Helpline, which connects individuals and families with information, resources, and support when they need it most. The demand is significant and growing rapidly.
Last year, we received over 133k requests across our network for support. In the past 5 years, the National Helpline has experienced annual growth rates in double digits. Every call, email, or text message represents someone looking for guidance, reassurance, or connection.
Supporting the Growing Demand
Today, we have set a bold but achievable goal: to serve five times more people by 2030. This means expanding access, strengthening our technology, and ensuring that every person who reaches out is met with timely, compassionate, and informed support. Additionally, we are committed to reducing the current response time by 50%, ensuring families and individuals are not waiting for the resources and support they need.
The Challenge of Modernization
Every message answered relies upon a simple tool-our database of referrals, resources, and supports. Our responses need to be accurate, timely, and robust. Outdated tools, limited search capabilities, and gaps in data make it harder to quickly connect individuals and families to the services they need.
Why Your Support Matters
We must take action to update our technology to meet the needs of our community. Making these updates requires a financial investment. As a grassroots organization, we rely on the support of the community to fund many of our initiatives. Together, we can support even more people in our community. Your donation to the Autism Society is an investment in the people, resources, and technology that power the National Helpline. Please donate below.
