Sara RS Miller
Sara RS Miller was diagnosed with PDD-NOS in 1992 at age 37. She received a degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1975. She worked in the food industry for 9 years where her interest in computer programming and automation started. She returned to school in the early 1980s to obtain a Computer Engineering Associate degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). She quit her job and became an independent contractor for PLCs (programmable logic controllers), using the name Valley Controls, Inc.
In 1995, Sara started her own hands-on automation business, Nova Systems Inc, which she ran for 25 years before selling it in 2020. She has been recognized for her contributions to the industry and was installed on the MSOE “Wall of Distinction”. She has also taught Quality Assurance and Statistics courses for their Continuing Education Department.
Sara is currently retired and is looking forward to contributions she can make to the Council of Autistic Advisors.
