Kim Musheno

Kim Musheno is a formidable advocate for the rights and welfare of individuals with Autism, serving as the Executive Vice President of Public Policy at the Autism Society of America – the country’s oldest and most extensive grassroots organization. Her primary focus is on developing and executing strategies to connect individuals affected by Autism, and their families, with the crucial support and services they need. With an impressive career spanning over three decades, Kim’s extensive experience in federal disability policy has significantly influenced the landscape of disability rights in Washington.

She is a recognized leader in her field, having held the position of chair for the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) in the past. CCD is the nation’s pre-eminent coalition comprising more than 100 national disability organizations. In addition to her previous chair role, she actively co-chairs the CCD’s Autism and Education Task Forces and is a valued member of the Employment, Health, and Long-Term Services Task Forces.

Before joining the Autism Society of America, Kim dedicated 16 years of her career as the Director of Public Policy for the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. In this role, she represented a network of university-affiliated researchers and programs tasked with providing interdisciplinary training in developmental disabilities to health professionals. Earlier in her career, she honed her skills as a communications specialist at The Arc of the United States and as a research assistant at the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD).
